Thoughts:

Bella Swan from the Twilight Saga gives more emotional depth during her BEGGING TO BE TURNED Era than El does the entire ten chapters I got into before DNFing this book. You’re supposed to have been hooked and having some kind of connection to care before the tenth chapter so one actually cares that the leading character is suffering. I felt nothing but annoyance. I was more interested in the world that was built. Now that was top notch but El gives NOTHING to make a connection to inspire me to want to continue. It’s only good to be a bookshelf trophy for the pretty cover.
