I hope that you have been well! We are already into April and I am shocked! Speaking of shocked I am going to share my review of the suspense novel “The Couple Next Door” by Shari Lapena.

The Couple Next Door is about a married couple that befalls the horrorific experience of having their infant daughter being kidnapped. We follow their twisted secrets to see if the infant will come back home alive.

I enjoyed the cover of this book. I really love the silhouette. I want to say that I enjoyed this book after I got through the first 15%. Because I was going to DNF the book. I had enough of female leads being whiny drunks when the book is set in the UK. I am glad that she sobered up and started to use her brain. Anne was not my favorite leading lady and Marco had to carry her. I think I would have felt sorry for Anne and Marco a bit more if they’d taken care of their daughter. I will say that Anne grows more than Marco. I think the plot was well done for a child kidnapping story. The book isn’t bad but I know that I wouldn’t reread it. I still would recommend the book.
