*Comic Book Review* // Magic the Gathering: Chandra (Issue #1)

Hi Darlings!

Here I am again with a another review of a comic book. I borrowed this issue from my brother who works at my local comic book shop. He has been into the card game for over ten years now and while I have never played I’ve loved following his journey in playing the game. So when he got his hands on this comic I was excited about reading it. So let’s dive into this review!

Issue: 1

Print: November 2018

Cover Style: 1

Artists: Ken Lashley (Art) & Matt Herns (Colors)

Publishing: IDW Publishing

Summary: This series is about the planeswalker, Chandra, from Kaladesh, as she travels planes and helps those in need.

Pros:

– The art and coloring is so beautiful! I liked how each character was so well designed.

–  Female Lead!

– The dialogue was fluid and super easy to read. What I mean by that is you don’t have to go back over the page more than once.

– I like Chandra and her POV has a voice that’s relatable.

– Chandra explains about what a planeswalker is and how not all are good like herself.

Cons:

– Waaayyy to short! I absolutely wish that comics were longer !

My overall thoughts is that I really like this comic. The art and colors are stunning. It has a great plot and a strong woman lead character. I can’t wait to dive into the second issue. I give this issue a 5 out 5 stars and I really do recommend it!
