Hi Blogtobers!
So I wanted to share my thoughts on a new Netflix original series, The Haunting of Hill House. I think I will share my thoughts on this series by episode! The first episode is titled Steven Sees A Ghost. This is a very fitting title and the opening sequence is on point. The episode starts off with the boy child, Steven waking to the sound of his little sister crying. He goes to his sister and his father comes in as well. She explains that she saw the “bent neck lady” again. Her father explains that this is just a dream spill over and tucks her back into bed. He sends Steven to bed and went to check on another daughter, the second eldest, Shirley. When he turns around the bedroom door to the youngest daughter and son is open. He goes back and closes it. Then we see the bent neck lady hovering over Nell, the youngest child. This is so facinating and as the opening scene to meet the characters. Now, fastfoward we see what has happened to the five siblings, and here are the children from oldest to youngest: Steven, Shirley, Theodora, Luke, and Nell. Their lives have drastically changed as adults because of the events that happened when they lived in Hill house. I am saddened by the opening loss we experience but I feel like more will be explained in the next episode. The encounters and the ghostly torments are spookily awesome. The plot flowed really well, excellent acting, great sets, nice costumes, and perfect character introductions. For a horror television show pilot I give this episode of five out five stars. Let me know down below if you have watched this episode. Are you going to continue? Did you like or dislike the episode?
P.S. Panda’s don’t like macaroni.
