YOU’VE BEEN ACCEPTED! || MAGICAL SCHOOL SERIES RECOMMENDATIONS

Hi everyone! Fall is coming really quick where I am and I wanted to share five of the YA book series that take place in magical school settings. Magical schools are one of my favorite book settings. They intrigue me and keep me hooked into finding more about the series. So here is my recommendations!

hp.jpgHarry Potter’s life is miserable. His parents are dead and he’s stuck with his heartless relatives, who force him to live in a tiny closet under the stairs. But his fortune changes when he receives a letter that tells him the truth about himself: he’s a wizard. A mysterious visitor rescues him from his relatives and takes him to his new home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

I give the Harry potter series five out five stars for its original story line and being a childhood classic of mine. A lot could be learned for this series that encouraged friendship, love, and courage.

9439989My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy; a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody’s head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos.

Jennifer Estep’s Mythos Academy series is easily my second favorite series from the author. The main character Gwen is easy to love and see her go through her journey is a mythical ride. I give this series  five out five stars plus there is a spin off series!

asbabHenrietta Howel can burst into flames. When she is brought to London to train with Her Majesty’s sorcerers, she meets her fellow sorcerer trainees, young men eager to test her powers and her heart. One will challenge her. One will fight for her. One will betray her. As Henrietta discovers the secrets hiding behind the glamour of sorcerer life, she begins to doubt that she’s the true prophesied one. With battle looming, how much will she risk to save the city–and the one she loves?

I thought that I would DNF this series because I struggled during my first time reading. Boy, I am glad that I didn’t. Henrietta is such a great main character and her struggles make really empathize with her. I love that she goes to this training school to learn to control the abilities she has. I give this series a four out five stars. You won’t regret trying it out!

marked

After a Vampire Tracker Marks her with a crescent moon on her forehead, 16-year-old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx and has affinities for all five elements: Air, Fire Water, Earth and Spirit. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny – with a little help from her new vampyre friends (or Nerd Herd, as Aphrodite calls them)

This series is so unique and really sets apart with the YA vampire school genre. There is purpose and I think that the Cast’s did a great job with this series and incorporating the school!

vaLissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires – the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.

This school has got to be one of the best vampire schools I have read since Marked. I think that the attention to the school was well done and I love the characters. I give this book a series a four out of five stars.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments what your favorite magical school series is. Let me know if you’ve read any of these series or want to or don’t want to read them! Let’s get the discussion started!

Till next time,

AJ xoxo
