Violet Waverly is a young woman in college in Chicago for literature. Everything seems to be going well when she gets a call from her grandmother, her only relative, stating she is on her deathbed. Violet makes a mad dash back her home town of Cascade Springs, NY. She finds her grandmother in her magical bookstore a vision of perfect health. It was all a hoax to get her grand daughter to return back home. Violet is hesitant because of the death of her best friend a few years back that had the whole town accusing her of the crime. Before she can leave her grandmothers boyfriend is found dead in her grandmothers driveway. She hurries to find the killer to keep her grandmother from being treated the way she was when her best friend died.

Pros: all the characters were great, I didn’t see who the antagonist was till very end. I liked that while the other characters showed interest in Violet. She was 100% clear that she only liked Chief Rainwater. I am so glad she didn’t even consider Nathan.

Cons: People not being considerate of Violet’s feelings. Otherwise the story was good.

Will I continue the series? Yes, I will!
