This book was sent to me for a review. My reviews are completely my own and it doesn’t matter if they sent me the book. If I don’t like it or if I like it I will always give my 100% honest opinion. Now to my review of KILL THE QUEEN.

Lady “Evie” Everleigh Saffir Winter Blair is the young woman no wanted from a murdered noble branch of the royal line of Blair’s in Bellona but is forced to do her noble duties. She lives in a world were your magical ability is the key to your future. For her, she has increased sense of smell. This makes her apart of the mutt class for abilities.
She is planing to return her family home to restore it when her cousin, Vasilia, decides to kill the current Queen and all the other remaining Blair’s. To save herself she digs deep and uses her hidden power to save herself. She aligns herself with a gladiator troupe. She joins them in their training to to better herself and when faced with an almost impossible choice she learns that in her time with them she has learned to trust them. This is when she confesses who she is. She is the only Blair left and she is the last Winter Queen. Her new found friends from the troupe aid her in getting her revenge and saving Bellona from an evil queen like no other.
Kill The Queen is in my top 5 favorite books this year. The story is so well written and filled with action. Estep really outdid herself with this first book in the series. This book dives into a magical world were everyone has an ability and the more elemental the better. I think that it is really cool that Estep chose that Evie’s ability to be that she is immune to magic. I love the growth of Evie went from being so scared to finally finding herself. She is a strong female character that is so rounded. I love her never ending loyalty to those she cares about. I was so happy with slow burn attraction between Evie and Sully. I was disappointed that we didn’t even get a kiss but I see that more is to come for them. They have such great chemistry. Her friendship with Pamola is sweet and I can’t wait to see more of her.
Vasilia was a great villain. She was wicked and had zero qualms about doing whatever it took to get what she wanted. Her end was so fitting. She deserved it for level of cruelty she inflicted on others. I cannot wait to see what is in store from Maeven, Nox, and Felton as they have escaped to Morta. I know more bad things are coming but I can’t wait to see how Evie and her black swan troupe handle it! The only down part I have is that I wish there more of an explanation of the rhyme but I am sure that it will be revealed soon. The book had excellent world building. I had a movie playing in my head the whole time. The characters were a pleasure to read. I have a clear image of all them in head. The plot was well thought out and I was so sad that the book ended. I 100% recommend this book to you and I give this book a 5 out 5 stars. I will be reading the next book Protect the Prince when it comes out! I hope that you will join me! Please let me know down below if you are going to pick it up or if you’re not? Till next time!
