Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward is the fourth installment in this romance based vampire series in the city of Caldwell, NY. This book centers around the brotherhood member, Butch and his aristocratic female, Marissa.

This book starts off with Butch being human. He is an ex-detective for the Caldwell PD. He is a strong willed man that has lived a rough life. He has his own demons to get passed but he finds himself in love with Wrath’s former shellan (wife term),  Marissa.  Marissa is stunning beautiful but is caught up with social strains of her class that prevents her from pursuing her own desire for Butch.  Butch wants to help the brotherhood but with him being human isn’t a plus when fighting in the constant war with the lessening society.

However, Butch finds himself in a situation where he is wounded and the Omega takes advantage of this to start a prophecy. This results in V helping him to see if the can transition into a vampire. As he is going through his issues so is Marissa. Marissa has found that while she is longer tethered to Wrath – a mating that they both mutually found undesirable- her social circle no longer wants to be around her. She is promptly kicked out of her brother’s home and she is taken in at the Brotherhood compound. She is grateful for this kindness and tries to find herself. Butch and her find themselves coming closer together. Their own issues collide as Butch is turned into a vampire and Marissa discovers herself.

Marissa I have to say is one of my favorite shellan’s. She is so strong, inspiring, and a really good partner for Butch. The two of them have great chemistry. Butch is open, intelligent, and not as bull headed as the males of the race are. Their romance scenes are beautiful written, the plot is really good, and you get to see more of the vampire world being built. This book is a five out five stars for me as a book. I definetely recommend this book. Keep in mind that this a solid series – one that requires you to read the previous books in chronological order. Thanks for reading! Let me know down below if you’ve read it, will you pick it up, or why you wouldn’t want to? Till next time!
