The movie starts off with a staff member aboard a space station. It appears that something has ravaged the station and the other staff members are dead. The staff member grabs a headset and tells command that the test subject has gotten out and that she needs to be let into the exit pod. Command tells her she can’t leave without the research. She grabs three capsules of research before the subject, which we now learn is a mutated rat, starts coming after her. She gets into the escape pod escaping the rat and watch the station explode. Shortly afterwards her pod explodes due to a broken window sending the three capsules down to earth. This is where we meet Davis played by Johnson, a primatologist, and George , an albino gorilla. The two share a bond and can communicate together with sign language. Like every role Johnson did a great job and I love the other characters in this movie. Morgan did a good job but reminded me so much Negan with his mannerisms. Two other animals were infected and those were a wolf and a crocodile. An inconsistency though was that while the rat, wolf, and crocodile were mutated they had physical changes to their appearance while all George did was get big. I don’t know if this was something related to the video game or just a personal preference from the production team but that really to me was an inconsistency that ran throughout the movie. But other than that I really enjoyed it and I do give this movie at four out of five stars. It’s a really great action comedy movie that isn’t lame and keeps you interested in the movie.
